Basecast™ by Date Version 2.0, Publication Date 2024.08.15
4 months ago by Clint Daniels
On August 15, 2024, Motionworks published an updated Version 2 to its Basecast™ by Date product. Version 2 will eventually replace Version 1 as the default record of travel in the United States. Version 2 includes a full daily history for each county and DMA in the United States from January 1, 2019 through July 31, 2024.
This is an incremental release of Version 2 containing daily travel patterns for July 2024.
The full validation report for this release can be found here.
Known Issues
- Extreme values have been identified on January 2, 2023.
- Due to implementation of new digital privacy laws in Texas on July 1, 2023, trip and PMT data for Texas counties and DMAs has higher than average variability. Motionworks expects this variability to stabilize over the remainder of calendar year 2024 as digital providers adapt to new rules and regulations in the state.
- During the data validation process for this release, an inconsistency with the total population and total labor force for Santa Clara County (CA) and the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose DMA during January 2024 has been identified. Other months before and after January 2024 are NOT affected. A fix has been identified and is in the process of being validated. The patched data will be released with the next release of Basecast™ by Date in September 2024.
