Placecast™ by Date Version 2.1, Publication Date 2023.08.22

On August 22, 2023, Motionworks published an update to its Placecast™ by Date product. While the end-user schemas have not changed, the data pipeline process used to generate the cleared places was updated based on internal audits and customer feedback. The changelog references changes in the Version 2.1 of Placecast. A complete overview of the Version 2.1 methodology is available in Place-based Methodology Version 2.1.
The following areas were updated during this process:
- Dwell times in the August 14, 2023 release were not reported correctly in some cases. The underlying queries have been updated and additional quality controls have been added to the data pipeline.
- Unfocused places with a parent were missing in prior releases. They are now available moving forward.
Currently, there are the following known issues to be aware of:
- Medical Places (including Hospitals and Student Health Centers) are missing after 2023-07-01 while Motionworks ensure conformity with new privacy laws coming into effect.
Changes by Place Type
With each new release of Placecast™ by Date, Motionworks reviews changes at each place type and reports whether the place had a material change in an hourly visit estimate. These changes are reported in the table below and visualized in this PDF.
