Licensing and cost for Anytime maptiles

The entitlement that unlocks Popcast Anytime vector tiles, how it is granted, and what tile delivery costs.

Entitlement

Popcast Anytime Maptiles is gated by the feature key popcast.anytime.segment_occ_tiles. In the console it appears as Popcast Segment Occupancy (Anytime) Polygon Maptiles on your organization's entitlements page.

  • Manual grant only. This feature is deny-by-default: an explicit grant from Motionworks is required; self-serve orgs cannot turn it on themselves. Contact sales for an explicit grant.
  • One entitlement, all tilesets. A single entitlement covers every published Anytime tileset (currently twelve: All Persons plus eleven audience segments) with no per-segment scoping. Listing any one published slug in a grant implies access to all of them.
  • Without the entitlement, grant minting returns 403 FEATURE_NOT_LICENSED.

Cost model

OperationCredits
Discovery (GET /v2/popcast/tiles/anytime/tilesets)0 (public, free)
Grant CRUD and TileJSON (control plane)0
Tile bytes (GET .../anytime/{layer}/{z}/{x}/{y}.mvt)1 credit per 1000 tiles served

At the metered credit price of $0.05 per credit, tile delivery works out to $0.05 per 1000 tiles. Tile fetches accrue in-transaction against your billing account (op id popcast_anytime_tiles_fetch, meter divisor 1000), so credit-pack wallets are billed the same way as metered-rail accounts.

A quick cost sanity model: a map session that pulls 60 tiles per view, serving 50,000 map views a month, fetches about 3,000,000 tiles, or 3,000 credits, or about $150.

Console visibility

Your organization admin can see the entitlement state and mint/revoke grants from the developer dashboard in the console. Grants minted through the API also appear there under the tile grants surface for Popcast; grant usage reporting (usage_30d) is a placeholder today and lands in a follow-up.
